Meet Survival Face To Face

We are delighted to announce that Canadian Survival Expert, Les Stroud will be attending The Bushcraft Show 2012 at Elvaston Castle & Country Park, Derbyshire. Les Stroud is famous for creating the new TV genre known as ‘Survival TV’ with his highly successful Discovery Channel series SURVIVORMAN, where he singlehandedly films his own shows, whilst surviving in some of the world’s harshest places.

Les’ talents not only extend to his survival expertise, or ability to film them, but he is also a talented musician and storyteller.

At The Bushcraft Show 2012, Les Stroud will be the keynote speaker on Sunday 3rd June 2012. In the evening and purely for weekend ticket holders only, he will entertain the crowds with his amazing stories just before bedtime. However, if you don’t plan on an early night, Les will be performing on the stage, with fellow musician, singing and playing his guitar and harmonica.

Don’t miss the chance of a lifetime to be a part of this magical experience that you will never forget!

What’s new?

We have a host of new and exciting things happening at The Bushcraft Show 2012. First off, we have a fabulous new location. Whilst the YMCA Lakeside is a stunning location, they are no longer able to offer their site for public access events. Our team of intrepid explorers searched the country to find a gorgeous spot that would provide the perfect setting for such an event, allow access across the country and facilitate more time to set up. Elvaston Castle & Country Park is a magical place for The Bushcraft Show 2012, set in the heart of Derbyshire.

The park opened in 1970 as one of the first country parks in England. This stunning location encompasses 200 acres of open parkland, woodland, lakes, historic gardens and a huge showground, which provides the perfect setting for The Bushcraft Show 2012.

The park has a Bridleway, Foot Paths, Cycle Routes and a super Nature Reserve with 6 Bird Hides, a Wetland Area, Reed Bed, Heronry, Butterfly Area, Dragonfly Area, Reptile Basking Area, Newt Pond and much more, ensuring that you will see a wide variety of flora and fauna.

The lake, not normally available for public access, will be at our disposal for the weekend, fires will be permitted and this year, dogs will be welcome at The Bushcraft Show, so book your ticket now!
