Most activities are free at The Bushcraft Show, however we offer specialist instruction classes, which are exclusive mini courses where you have the opportunity to work with a small group of people and leading experts covering a particular skill that you are interested in. Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Introduction to Herbal Hedgerow Medicine
with Beyond Bushcraft

Come and learn what common plants can be used to make a simple remedy for a variety of ailments. Learn how to infuse oils with herbs and make a herbal salve. Bumps, bruises, insect bites and wounds can all be helped with this hands-on workshop. Every participant will leave with a pot of their own hand-crafted medicine. Helen is a qualified medical herbalist with a practice in Devon. This class is a taster of Beyond Bushcraft’s Blackthorn and Hawthorn courses running this summer.
Willow Weaving
with Beyond Bushcraft

Join experienced willow weaver, Zoe Atterbury on this special class to learn the art of willow weaving. You will learn about willow and its many uses and be provided with the tools and tuition to make your very own beautiful willow platter to take away with you. The techniques you will acquire will be a beginner’s introduction to willow weaving and we can guide you should you wish to further these skills.
African Drumming
with Sabar Soundsystem

Learn to play traditional drums with a ‘Sabar’, which in West Africa means ‘Drum’. These are big drums and you can learn world-flavoured beats influenced by music from Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Indonesia and India. Suitable for all ages.
Solo Canoeists Skills Development
with Keswick Canoe & Bushcraft

Learn advanced paddle strokes to help control your boat precisely in all conditions with BCU Level 4 Canoe Coach Paul Weller. Paul has been paddling a canoe since the age of 9 and has been working in the outdoors for over 20 years and is also a qualified mountain leader and climbing instructor. He has led courses and expeditions throughout the UK and has camped, trekked, paddled and climbed in India, Sweden, Norway, South America, Russia and Nepal.

Forge your own Axe
with Wetterlings

Forge an axe with Julia Kalthoff & Rikard, Master Smith from Wetterlings Swedish Axe Works under their instruction for an out of this world experience. You can make your own axe branded with you own initials to treasure for a lifetime. Only 4 people per session, spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Animal Tracking
with The National Tracking School

Tracking animals can be great fun, learn with Perry in a safe, friendly and informative manner as he shares with you his experience of animal dirt time gained around the world. These interactive group exercises are designed to improve your natural tracking skills enabling you to get close to your quarry to observe and photograph it.

The Art of Tracking Humans

Head out with Perry and learn skills and tips for tracking humans, with some amazing secrets from his 40 years experience of police, anti-poaching, urban, rural and wildlife tracking. Literally, follow in his footsteps and enjoy this interactive human tracking session based on real life experiences, and, as always with Perry expect a few surprises.
