Event Details

In this class you will use authentic ingredients, utensils and methods to prepare your very own Iron Age meal. You’ll learn how to prepare flatbreads and cakes, making butter, cooking eggs in ashes, stewing fruits, and cooking in clay pots over an open fire. This session promises to be a fascinating insight into the past, whilst also offering lots of value to present day bushcrafters who are interested in foraging and campfire cookery!

Caroline is a specialist in the late Iron Age and has a strong passion in bringing the past to life through cookery and arts. She has a university background in archaeology and heritage, and has worked at the Roman Baths Museum, and Mary Arden’s Farm, a Tudor working farm near Stratford upon Avon.
