Palaeolithic FlintKnapping Class with James Dilley

Make your own handaxe, the most iconic artefact representing the Palaeolithic period. They were made particularly famous in Britain after the discovery of the middle Pleistocene butchery sites such as Swanscombe (Kent) and at Boxgrove (West Sussex) which date to around 500,000 BP. A recently found handaxe from Happisburgh (Norfolk) dated as far back as 700,000 BP! The handaxe represents the earliest complex tool manufacture in the world as it is a step above the earlier core and flake culture of the Olduwan.
